Dr Christopher Arnott grew up in Brisbane with a love of science and the human body. He studied for a Bachelor of Science and then Medicine at UQ. Continuing his interest in human physiology and developing his ability to manipulate it in time-sensitive situations, Chris decided to undertake anaesthetics training.
He did all of his placements in Queensland. During his training, he found acute pain of great interest. That led to a desire to have even deeper skills in order to help more patients. He decided to study for a second medical specialty in pain medicine.
Chris has worked as an anaesthetist in small and large hospitals spending time in regional Australia. He works with the persistent pain team at Metro South Hospital and Health Service as well as in private practice.
In every location and area of his work, Chris has enjoyed getting to know his patients. He likes problem-solving complex clinical challenges and the problems patients have managing pain and daily life. With every patient, he spends time finding pragmatic solutions that are meaningful to them.
