Dr Leela Arthur grew up in Brisbane, the first in her family to go to university. She was inspired by her GP term in the Inala community as a medical student, and returned as a new fellow to Inala Primary Care in 2016. She’s a GP with us because of her patients, the team she works with, and the rewards received from caring for community over the long term.
Leela is an S100 hepatitis B prescriber and primary supervisor for Sandstone Healthcare’s registrar/medical student teaching programs. She believes in everyone’s right to the best care regardless of diagnosis, ethnicity, lifestyle, gender or sexuality.
Leela says: ‘When I saw how many patients with hepatitis B were being sent to hospital for something a GP should be able to manage, I thought, “This is ridiculous. I should be able to do this.” So, I did the extra training to become an S100 prescriber.
Even when my books are closed, I’ll always take patients living with Hepatitis B, or patients needing treatment for Hepatitis C. The most exciting development in my career has been seeing an 8-week cure for hep C.’
We’re passionate about good health.
This means our whole team – GPs, nurses, allied health, specialists – work together to give you the time and attention you need. We get to know you, earn your trust, and use our combined specialties to offer new and improved models of care.

Our team sees this as a partnership with you because you know your own life best. And with each other, because great healthcare isn’t a solo act.
As a not-for-profit practice, we invest profits back into bringing fairness and quality healthcare to the communities who need it.
We put our passion into practice because that’s what the best healthcare needs.
