Two Clinics, One Mission

Sandstone Healthcare operates two general practices in Brisbane: Sandstone Inala Primary Care and Sandstone Healthcare Yeerongpilly. Both are part of the same nonprofit organization, committed to delivering excellent healthcare. 

Each clinic uses a different fee structure to respond to the communities we serve and the realities of healthcare funding in Australia. 

Why Different Fee Structures?

Medicare rebates haven’t kept pace with practice costs, making bulk billing financially unsustainable for many clinics. As a nonprofit, we’ve chosen to operate different funding models at our two locations so we can continue providing quality care to different communities.

Inala Primary Care

Sandstone’s operations at Inala are fully bulk billedFor standard consultations patients have no out of pocket costs. 

Sandstone Healthcare Yeerongpilly

Sandstone Healthcare Yeerongpilly is a private billing practice. Patients pay at the time of consultation and receive a Medicare rebate where one is available.

Sandstone Healthcare has been actively involved in advocacy for equitable healthcare funding and access to care. We believe everyone deserves access to quality general practice care, regardless of their postcode or income.

Appointments

Better health is built together. That is why we offer booked appointments both face to face and virtually so that you choose your clinician. Best of all, our longer appointments minimise your waiting time. That is care in action.

Appointment Lengths

A standard appointment at Sandstone Healthcare is 20 minutes. That means we can listen and connect the dots. Longer appointments are available too. Our patient advocates at reception will help you book the right appointment for your needs. Just let them know the issues which you want addressed and they can sort out the rest.

Appointment Attendees

Our practices are built with larger consultation rooms with you in mind. We know that sometimes you want family or supporters with you. That is absolutely okay with us. We are all part of the care team and our job is to work together with you and your carers.

Private Billing for all patients: 

However, for procedures like iron infusions and assessments for private driving medicals for licenses, you will be eligible to receive your Medicare rebate.

Please remember to inquire about billing specifics when booking your appointment.
